Rugby league legend Mark Geyer believes Canberra coach Ricky Stuart won’t pick outgoing star John Bateman in the team again this year.
It comes after the Raiders on Tuesday confirmed Bateman would leave the capital club at season’s end.
The star English backrower is now looking for a new club and Raiders coach Ricky Stuart took aim at player agent Isaac Moses in a passionate rant.
Stuart accused Moses of “agitating” and “manipulating” clubs to get big-money deals for his clients, but not always in the player’s best interest.

Stuart said he had no issue with Bateman himself but Geyer took aim at the player on his Triple M radio show The Rush Hour.
“I don’t begrudge any player getting as much money as they can,” Geyer said.
“This is the toughest game in the world, I don’t begrudge anyone. I begrudge the way they do it.

“Be face to face, be man to man. Shake my hand and say see ya later. I love being here but it’s time to go home. It’s time to go back to Wigan or it’s time to make more money.
“But don’t hide in the shadows. Be transparent, you make more friends.
“Is he out for the rest of the year (injured) or not? No (I wouldn’t pick him).”
Asked if we have seen the last of Bateman in lime green, Geyer said; “unfortunately, yep”.
Bateman has been sidelined with a shoulder injury for the season to date but he’s hoping to be fit and available for the second half of the year.
