BANGOR, Maine (WGME) — Police said they arrested a Maine man armed with a knife who was threatening to kill people at an office building in Bangor.
Police responded to an office building on Summer Street on Friday after getting reports about a man, identified 35-year-old Jeremy Trudeau of Bangor, who was armed with a knife, inside the building and threatening to kill people.
A woman told police she had a protective order against Trudeau and found him waiting for her outside.
Multiple witnesses said they saw Trudeau chase the woman into the building as she was screaming for help.
Witnesses also reported to police that Trudeau damaged a door while trying to break it down after the victim barricaded herself inside.
Police arrested Trudeau as he was trying to get into his vehicle.
He was charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, terrorizing, domestic violence criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, domestic violence terrorizing, violation of a protection order, and criminal mischief.
Trudeau was taken to the Penobscot County Jail.
