ALBUQUERQUE, NM– City Councilors Tammy Fiebelkorn (District 7), Renée Grout (District 9), and Brook Bassan (District 4), will host an official housewarming event for the Gateway Young Adult Housing Navigation Center on Tuesday, March 24th at 1:00 PM. This facility, a thoughtfully renovated hotel, represents a major milestone advancing dignity, stability, and opportunity for young adults ages 18-24 as they transition into stable housing and independence.
The event will offer a first look at the facility’s private and shared rooms and highlight the supportive environment designed to help young people succeed. In the tradition of a housewarming, the City Councilors are inviting the community to contribute “welcome gifts” to help create a cozy and personal space for the center’s new residents when they move in next week.

“This center is more than just a roof; it’s a commitment to our youth that they have a place where they belong,” said Councilor Tammy Fiebelkorn. “We are excited to open these doors and invite the community to help us fill this space with the warmth and care these young adults deserve.”
“We are addressing a long-existing gap and filling a need for the young adults,” said Councilor Renée Grout. “Our collaborative work over the past four years has produced a facility that will be instrumental in helping young adults succeed and benefit our entire community.”
“By transforming this space into a navigation center, we are giving young people a real path toward independence,” added Councilor Brook Bassan. “I’m proud of this collaboration and look forward to seeing the community come together to welcome our new neighbors.”
