John (Jack) Antone Giacoma, passed away on Sunday evening, March 1, 2026, at the age of 88.
Jack was born on June 18, 1937, in Butte, Montana, to John Giacoma and Rena Pezzetti Giacoma. He grew up in Butte alongside his younger sister, Maureen Giacoma Murphy.
Jack was raised in the Mining City and spent much of his life between Butte, Holter Lake, and later Yuma, Arizona, while also spending time in Helena where he was well known to many in the community.
He began his working life as a produce manager at Buttrey’s in Butte before later going to work for the Bertoglio Distributing company which he eventually purchased from his cousin.
In 1965, Jack married Loa Mae Palmer in Butte. Together they built a loving partnership that included several business ventures over the years, including Bertoglio Distributing in Butte and the Indian Trails RV/Marina and Indian Trails Lodge Bar/Restaurant on Holter Lake.
Jack was known for playing the accordion at parties and many boat tours on Holter Lake, where he spent many summers with Loa, family and friends. A full-blooded Italian with a strong personality and a big belly laugh, he was well known and recognized by many throughout the communities where he lived and worked.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Loa Mae Giacoma.
