Slew of entering autos in several streets resulting in thefts from the vehicles – Your Local News

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Feb 20 – 26, 2026. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Entering Auto – E Church St – In reference to complainant advising her vehicle was broken into in the Amici’s parking lot. Report taken.
  • Damage to Property – Tanglewood Ln – In reference to complainant stating a female friend came by his house and flipped his trash can. Complainant stated he only knows the female by first name and did not wish to press charges and just wanted to make law enforcement aware. All okay.
  • Alarm – N Broad St; Graystone Church – Building checked, all doors secured.
  • Other Law – Tall Oaks W – In reference to subject intoxicated believing someone was attempting to enter his residence. Area checked with negative contact with any subject.
  • Traffic stop/DUI Arrest – Hwy 78 / Baker St – In reference to observing a Honda running off the roadway. The driver was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. She was taken into custody and turned over to jail staff without further incident.
  • Prowler Report – Jessica Way – In reference to approx. 5 males attempting to enter a vehicle, no contact.
  • Enter Auto – Fambrough Way – Two vehicles entered, report taken.

  • Enter Auto – Fambrough Way – One vehicle entered, no items missing. Report taken.
Enter Auto – Bridge Pl – Vehicle entered, negative contact with owner.

Enter Auto – Jessica Way – Vehicle entered, no items taken. Report taken.

  • Enter Auto – Bridgeport Ln – Vehicle entered, negative contact with owner.

  • Enter Auto – Bridgeport Pl – Two cars entered, Unable to get contact with registered owner.
  • Enter Auto – Bridgeport Pl – Two Vehicles entered nothing noted to be taken.
  • Enter Auto – Bridgeport Pl – One vehicle entered, Brown wallet taken containing credit cards and identification.
  • Enter Auto – Douglas St – One vehicle entered, approximately $200.00 cash taken. Report taken.
  • Enter Auto – Douglas St- Vehicle entered, nothing noted of being taken. Report taken.

  • Enter Auto – Bridgeport Pl – One Vehicle entered, one credit card taken.

  • Enter Auto – Douglas St – 2 vehicles entered one item taken.

Enter Auto – Douglas St – One vehicle entered, no items taken. Report Declined.
  • 
Entering Auto – Douglas St – Vehicle entered, earbuds missing however owner declined report.
  • Child Custody/Arrest – Masters Dr – In reference to a named subject arriving on location to get his child from his mother who has had the juvenile since 02/02/26. He was arrested for an outstanding warrant and transported to Walton County Sheriff’s Office. Situation mediated.
  • Suspicious Person – MLK Jr Blvd; Tokyo – In reference to a passerby observing a black male outside the store intoxicated causing a disturbance. Area checked no subjects causing a disturbance.
  • Traffic Stop/Arrest – Hwy 138 / Alcovy River Bridge – In reference to a named subject driving down Hwy 138 with no lights on. He was found to be under the influence of alcohol and unfit to operate a motor vehicle. He was taken into custody and turned over to jail staff at the Walton County Detention Center.
  • Traffic Stop/Arrest – W Church St / Wayne St – In reference to a named subject driving with a suspended license. He was released on a citation at Monroe Police Department.
  • Juvenile Problem – Carver place – Reference several juvenile males playing ding dong ditch. Located the males on Green St and advised them they needed to stop.
  • Area Check – Downtown on Foot – All ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Atha St – In reference to a subject driving a dirt bike through the complainant’s yard. Negative contact.
  • Area Check – W. Spring St –Walmart – Foot patrol inside the store. All ok.
  • Entering Auto – E Church St – In reference to complainant advising her vehicle was broken into in the Amici’s parking lot. Report taken.
  • Welfare check – Barron Dr – In reference to complainant not being able to get in touch with stepdaughter. Complainant had key and gave access, all was ok.
  • Vehicle Pursuit – Hwy 78 W at Edmondson Rd – In reference to assisting OCSO with a pursuit. The driver crashed at Bradley Gin Rd and Treadwell Bridge Rd and ran on foot. K9 track started and during the track officers were notified the suspect was picked up by a vehicle. Suspect was taken into custody at Walmart in Monroe.
  • Warrant – Classic Trail- Named suspect was arrested and transported to WC Jail with no issue.
  • Dispute – W Spring St.; McDonald’s – In reference to complainant reporting that she had been hugged by a McDonald’s employee the previous date and felt it was inappropriate. Report taken.
  • Alarm – Woody Dr- Contact made with resident, all ok.
  • Mental Patient – W Spring St – In reference to the complainant stating that she was sexually assaulted by her caregiver. After investigation, claims were unfounded.
  • Missing Person – W Spring St.; Walmart – In reference to a resident of a group home at Wheel House Ln. leaving on foot yesterday around 1430. He suffers from mental illness and his caregiver and Aunt expressed concern for his welfare. He was listed as missing on NCIC. The area around Walmart was checked with negative contact.
  • Theft Report – Atha St – In reference to subject stealing a power wheel ATV from the above address. The item was returned to the rightful owner.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Rosewood Ln – In reference to a Black sedan parked in front of the complainant’s driveway for 30 minutes, the area checked negative contact.
  • Suicidal Threats – W Spring St; Piedmont Walton – Subject on location at the hospital making suicidal threats, she was placed on a mental health hold by ER staff.
  • 911 Hang-Up – Store House Ct – In reference to static on the line. Call cleared due to extensive history.
  • Damage To Property – E Fambrough St – In reference to complainant’s vehicle having damage to the left rear of the vehicle. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person – Oakwood Ln – In reference to an unknown female subject, of unknown description, pulling on the complainant’s door. Area checked with negative contact.
  • 911 Hang Up – GW Carver – Elderly residents stated all ok at the location. They still have a landline and are using an old cordless telephone. I advised to update the phone and call the telephone provider as this has happened several times.
  • Traffic Stop – S Broad / Davis St – In reference to a maroon Ford Ranger being stopped for no insurance. The vehicle was towed by Taylor’s, and the driver was issued a citation for no insurance. The occupants were given a courtesy ride to their residence on Hwy 11 south.
  • Traffic Accident – W Spring St / MLK Blvd – Two vehicle accident, no injuries. GEARS report completed.
  • Domestic Dispute – Highland Creek Dr – Subject was upset that his adult stepson’s girlfriend was at the house. She does not live there but the stepson does. The entered the bedroom of the stepson and questioned him. The stepson cussed at the subject and the subject grabbed him by his neck leaving visible marks. Events were confirmed by the girlfriend who was in the room. The subject was arrested and charged with FV Battery and transported to WCSO and turned over to deputies.
