MENDOCINO CO., 12/24/16 – A portion of Highway 1 is closed between Point Arena and Manchester due to a flooding Garcia River.
The closure runs from south of Stornetta Drive to Lighthouse Road.
Motorists can use Eureka Hill Road and Mountain View Road to travel between Point Arena and Manchester, adding an hour onto the commute.
The closure is the result of heavy rain from the atmospheric river, which caused the Garcia River to flood the roadway. A flood watch remains in place for the area until 10 p.m.
Caltrans did not provide a time of reopening.
