January cold today, then much warmer Monday
Sunny and seasonal weather today! Highs will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s.
BECAUSE THE MONKEYS ARE LOOSE. ROBERT TOWNSEND FIVE. ON YOUR SIDE. THE MONKEYS ARE LOOSE. BRITTANY THE MONKEYS ARE LOOSE. THE MONKEYS ARE TAKING OVER. SAINT LOUIS. SOMETHING I WOULD NOT OR DIDN’T THINK I’D SEE THIS MORNING. MONKEYS ON THE LOOSE IN SAINT LOUIS. THAT HAPPENS HERE. I GOT DIBS ON COVERING THAT. OKAY, THAT’S EXCITING RIGHT NOW. I DON’T CARE IF I’M OFF, I WILL COME IN AND I WILL WORK TO COVER A MONKEY MANHUNT, BECAUSE THAT IS SPECTACULAR. NOT GREAT WEATHER FOR HUNTING MONKEYS TODAY. IT’S A LITTLE BIT COLD FOR THAT. YEAH. HOW ODD. AN ODD WEATHER AS WELL. FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS, TEMPERATURES KIND OF JUMPING AROUND A BIT HERE. TODAY WE’RE VERY SEASONAL, WHICH MEANS ON THE COLD SIDE IT WILL FEEL LIKE JANUARY. BUT LOOK AT THIS MONDAY AND TUESDAY. THAT’S A WARM UP FOR US BACK IN THOSE MID TO UPPER 50S. WE START TO COOL DOWN WEDNESDAY INTO THE END OF THE WEEK, AND BY NEXT WEEKEND, WELL, TEMPERATURES ARE BACK TO BEING COLD AT LEAST ONE OF THE TWO DAYS. WE’LL GET TO THAT IN A BIT. HERE’S A LOOK AT CLOUDS AND RADAR. WE ARE COMPLETELY CLEAR THIS MORNING. NO CLOUDS, THAT’S ALL THANKS TO HIGH PRESSURE WHICH IS DRIVING THE WEATHER AROUND KANSAS CITY. ANYTIME WE HAVE HIGH PRESSURE, THAT MEANS VERY QUIET CONDITIONS. THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT WE’RE SEEING. AND SINCE WE HAVE THOSE CLEAR SKIES WILL ALLOW TEMPERATURES TO DROP. IT’S 19 DEGREES IN KANSAS CITY RIGHT NOW. 18 ATCHISON 19 IN OTTAWA, 20 DEGREES BUTLER 22 DEGREES IN SEDALIA, AROUND 20 DEGREES IN CHILLICOTHE WITH WIND CHILLS IN THE LOW TEENS. COLD START NOT GETTING MUCH WARMER. JUST A LITTLE BIT THOUGH. TOWARDS THE SECOND HALF OF THE DAY. LOW 30S BY LUNCHTIME. THEN WE’RE GOING TO TRY TO GET TO ABOUT 40 DEGREES IN KANSAS CITY, BUT WE MIGHT FALL SHORT AND ONLY HIT 39 DEGREES. THE GOOD THING ABOUT TODAY WE’LL HAVE WIDESPREAD SUNSHINE, SO IT AT LEAST WILL LOOK VERY NICE WITH THAT SUNSHINE. YOU WANT TO HAVE THE SUNGLASSES TODAY? ALSO, WIND SPEEDS WILL NOT BE WINDY LIKE THEY WERE YESTERDAY. MUCH MORE RELAXED. HERE’S A NINE DAY FORECAST. I’M SURE YOU IMMEDIATELY LOOKED AT MONDAY AND TUESDAY. THAT’S WHERE OUR WARMER TEMPERATURES ARE THE TWO BEST DAYS. I PERSONALLY THINK ON THE NINE DAY STARTING OFF AT 30 TOMORROW MORNING, A LITTLE BIT WARMER, NOT AS COLD AND THEN WE’LL SEE HIGHS RIGHT AROUND THE MID 50S, 54 DEGREES ON MONDAY. OUR WARMEST DAY THOUGH IS ACTUALLY TUESDAY. FLIRTING WITH THE 60S 59 DEGREES. STILL LOOKING PRETTY DRY AS WE HEAD INTO WEDNESDAY. I AM KEEPING AN EYE ON TUESDAY NIGHT INTO THE EARLY MORNING HOURS. WEDNESDAY MAYBE FOR SOME RAIN. I LEFT IT OFF THE NINE DAY FOR NOW. WINDY CONDITIONS WEDNESDAY. THAT’S ALSO WHEN WE’RE BACK IN THE LOW 40S AT LEAST ALL THE WAY THROUGH FRIDAY, AND THEN WE GET TO SATURDAY, AND THAT’S LOOKING LIKE THE COLDEST DAY FOR NEXT WEEKEND. A HIGH OF 32 DEGREES, JUST A DEGREE ABOVE FREEZING. I HAVE INCREASED THAT NUMBER FOR SUNDAY THOUGH, AROUND 40 DEGREES. SO OVERALL LOOKING PRETTY DRY. WE MIGHT ADD SOME SMALL RAIN CHANCES TO THE FORECAST FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS, BUT FOR NOW WE ARE LEAVING THEM OFF BECAUSE THE MODELS. IT’S JUST A LITTLE TOO EARLY TO ADD THOSE. AND AS WE WRAP UP, JUST KNOW THAT TOMORROW LOOKING MUCH WARM
Sunday is off to a much colder start this morning with temperatures in the 20s and wind chills in the teens. Even though we will see widespread sunshine and wind out of the southwest today, temperatures will struggle to warm. Highs will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s, which is seasonal for January. Tonight looks mostly clear and not as cold as this morning with lows in the 30s. Highs return to the mid to upper 50s both Monday and Tuesday, but we cool back to the 40s for the second half of the week. Highs are back in the 30s come Saturday. The forecast also looks pretty dry, with very limited chances of precipitation.
