by Editor de Tecnologia abril 28, 2026
written by Editor de Tecnologia

Brown Noah Czarneski En Aunque Snapchat

Southeast Wisconsin blizzard warning canceled; conditions to ease

by Diego Ramírez – Managing Editor marzo 17, 2026
written by Diego Ramírez – Managing Editor

MILWAUKEE – A powerful late-season winter storm will slowly loosen its grip on southern Wisconsin by later Monday afternoon, but the impacts will linger well into Tuesday morning. The storm will gradually wind down through the afternoon but cold air and blowing snow continue to create hazardous conditions.

A Blizzard Warning, which had been in effect across much of southern Wisconsin, has now been canceled. It has been replaced by a winter weather advisory until 9 p.m. Monday. Dangerous conditions are expected to gradually ease.

The system delivered bands of moderate to heavy snow with snowfall rates approaching an inch per hour in some areas. At the same time, powerful northerly wind gusts in excess of 50 mph at times produced near-whiteout conditions and sharply reduced visibility across much of southern Wisconsin. Road conditions will gradually improve, but they will freeze over again Monday night as cold air arrives.

Blowing snow, dangerous travel continue

What we know:

Even after the heaviest snow tapers off, conditions will not improve immediately.

Gusty winds will continue to blow and drift snow across roads, fields and open areas. That means possible slick travel could persist through Tuesday morning.

Motorists should still expect snow-covered roads, especially on rural highways and bridges. Drifting snow may also redevelop in open areas where strong winds persist.

Frigid air arrives overnight

What’s next:

As the storm pulls away Monday evening, the wind will slowly diminish, but much colder air will settle into the region overnight.

Temperatures will fall to near zero inland and into the single digits closer to Lake Michigan. Even with lighter winds, wind chills are expected to drop into the negative teens by Tuesday morning.

The cold will lock in any snowpack created by Monday’s storm, keeping roads icy into early Tuesday. With temperatures near zero, road salt becomes less effective and area roads could become icy again, particularly bridges and overpasses that cool faster than surface roads.

Another system arrives Tuesday night

Dig deeper:

The quiet stretch early Tuesday will be short-lived as a fast-moving disturbance is moves through the Midwest Tuesday night into early Wednesday. Forecast models indicate light snow developing across southern Wisconsin.

Most areas could see around a half inch to just over an inch of accumulation by Wednesday morning. While not a major storm, the timing could create slick roads for the early commute. Patchy freezing drizzle may develop as the snow winds down Wednesday morning if ice crystals diminish in the atmosphere.

Gradual warming later this week

Big picture view:

After midweek, the overall pattern looks quieter with a gradual warming trend. West-northwest winds in the upper atmosphere should keep major storm systems away from the region through the end of the week. Temperatures will slowly climb closer to seasonal levels.

By the weekend, milder air could begin melting the fresh snowpack across southern Wisconsin, offering a reminder that spring is slowly trying to return but also raising concerns about flooded basements again for some in the area.

Milwaukee fatal Deer District shooting; victim identified, suspect sought

by Diego Ramírez – Managing Editor marzo 3, 2026
written by Diego Ramírez – Managing Editor

MILWAUKEE – Family members say a fender bender led to the fatal shooting of 47-year-old Sharita Barber in Milwaukee’s Deer District on Saturday night, Feb. 28.

What we know:

The shooting happened just after 11:30 p.m. near Vel R. Phillips and State. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office identified Barber as the victim.

Less than an hour before, she posted a Facebook Live video from the BossMan Dlow concert at the newly-opened Landmark Credit Union Live venue.

Investigators say Barber was shot multiple times after being involved in an altercation following a car accident. The Milwaukee Police Department has not released a motive or identified a suspect.

What they’re saying:

Germika, Barber’s younger sister, said the loss has been devastating for her family.

«My literal one call that’s all,» she said. «Just trying to come to grips with it. Just realizing that my sister is no longer going to be the matriarch, the glue.»

Video circulating online appears to show Barber involved in an altercation after the crash.

«My sister loved nice things, so once we saw a red jag truck, we already knew […] that she was gone,» Germika said.

She said her family is still searching for answers as police continue their investigation.

«I know what happened to my sister, all I do not know is who,» she said. «This is not the first person to be killed over a fender bender, it’s not gonna be the last person to be killed over a fender bender. This is Milwaukee, Wisconsin – you can have no shock here.»

SIGN UP TODAY: Get daily headlines, breaking news emails from FOX6 News

Germika described her sister as a proud mother of two, a social worker who cared deeply for her community and a devoted big sister and aunt.

«She was caring for him so he could finish his senior year of high school, so that he didn’t have to move to a new city,» she said. «My sister was everything to me.»

Dig deeper:

MPD has not released additional details about what led to the shooting and have not announced any arrests. FOX6 has reached out to MPD for an update but has not yet heard back.

US strikes Iran: Milwaukee protesters call for peace

by Diego Ramírez – Managing Editor marzo 1, 2026
written by Diego Ramírez – Managing Editor

MILWAUKEE – The U.S. and Israel conducted military strikes across Iran, prompting protests in downtown Milwaukee and reaction both locally around the world on Saturday.

Protests in Milwaukee

What they’re saying:

The Party for Socialism and Liberation organized a protest, and dozens of people took to Cathedral Square with strong messages calling for peace in Iran.

«We are against illegal imperialist wars that our current government is doing. The people of Iran – the people of the world – have a right to have the country as they were, and they have a right to live in peace and not fear,» said the party’s Joshua Taylol. «The United States has no right to attack other countries unprovoked.»

Protesters at Cathedral Square respond to U.S. strikes in Iran.

«We understand the situation in Iran was reaching a boiling point, that sporadic Donald Trump administration was probably going to do something erratic, like bomb Iran preemptively at the behest of Israel,» said demonstrator Joseph Hamilton. «It wasn’t surprising, but it was still distressing.»

The Milwaukee Anti-War Committee organized what it called an emergency protest at Zeidler Union Square. Protesters said the strikes were unnecessary, and they don’t want to see war or innocent people killed.

«We believe in Iranian sovereignty for themselves, that they get to be the ones to decide their own destinies,» said Sara Onitsuka, the committee’s chair. «The U.S. should not be going in.»

«Extreme sadness. It just – I can’t imagine how those families feel, and that we are part of this,» said Jessica Foster. «War is never the answer, it never should be the answer, but especially a war that is based on nothing. There’s been no reason given for this war. There’s no reason for us to be there.»

Protesters at Zeidler Union Square respond to U.S. strikes in Iran.

Trump administration’s stance

The other side:

The action came after weeks of warning from the U.S. about Iran’s nuclear weapons program and clashes between protesters and the country’s government.

President Donald Trump had threatened action if Tehran did not negotiate a deal to constrain its nuclear program. Meanwhile, he ordered the largest military buildup in the Middle East in decades. Both sides signaled they were prepared for war if the talks on Tehran’s nuclear program failed.

Trump said in a video posted on his Truth social media account that the U.S. had begun «major combat operations in Iran.» He claimed Iran has continued to develop its nuclear weapons program and plans to develop missiles to reach the U.S. and appealed to the Iranian people to «take over your government — it will be yours to take.»

Iran insists its nuclear program is peaceful, the U.S. and others suspect it is aimed at eventually developing weapons. Iran says it hasn’t been enriching uranium since U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear sites in June.
