El capitán Angst se desempeñaba como piloto de un KC-135 en apoyo a dicha operación cuando ocurrió el siniestro sobre el oeste de Irak. El oficial, graduado de la Escuela Secundaria de Wilmington en 2014 e hijo de un empleado del distrito escolar local, es recordado por su profunda dedicación al servicio de su país y su generosidad hacia los demás.
Quienes conocieron al capitán Angst destacan su amabilidad, su alegría constante y su pasión por la música, los viajes y la exploración de la naturaleza. Además de su compromiso militar, se mantuvo profundamente dedicado a su esposa, Mary, a su familia y a sus amigos.
En representación de la familia, Mindy McCarty-Stewart, superintendente de las Escuelas de la Ciudad de Kettering y madre de Mary, señaló que el capitán Angst murió haciendo lo que más amaba: volar y servir junto a sus compañeros.

Officials have given the all-clear after the Wilmington International Airport (ILM) was evacuated Thursday due to a bomb threat, WECT reports.
New Hanover County Sheriff’s deputies said their bomb squad responded to the airport after receiving a report of the threat.
Airport officials said they were made aware of the threat at 8:50 p.m.
New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad completed their sweep and determined the terminal is safe for operations.
Officials said the airport was evacuated out of an abundance of caution and to ensure everyone’s safety.
Firefighters put out a smoky fire inside a metal-clad Wilmington building Saturday.
The fire was reported at 3:14 p.m. Saturday in the 1,875-square-foot building at 1660 E. Mauretania St, Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said.
“Firefighters located a contents fire only and are handling it with the first arriving fire companies,” Stewart said.
No injuries were reported.
