Titans Knock Off Oakland To Clinch Home Playoff Game

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. (2/28/2026) — The University of Detroit Mercy men’s basketball team made sure they will start the postseason at home as the Titans got some revenge from a home loss with a 95-89 victory over #MetroSeries rival Oakland on Saturday.

Senior Orlando Lovejoy tallied 29 points and was 13-of-16 from the field, to go with four assists and two steals. Sophomore TJ Nadeau posted a career-best 28 points, going 7-of-11 from the field, 5-of-7 from three, and 9-of-10 at the line, while also handing out five assists.

Redshirt freshman Tyler Spratt had 15 points, four rebounds, and four assists, and senior Legend Geeter added 13 points, six rebounds, and six assists.

The Titans 15-14 (12-8 HL) ended the year tied for third in the standings and will be the third seed in the Horizon League Championship, facing Milwaukee in the first round.

Detroit Mercy had an early 14-point lead in the first half, but Oakland (16-15, 12-8 HL) would come back and take a three-point advantage in the second, leading 66-63 with 11:09 left.

A three by Nadeau tied it and while there would be several ties the rest of the way, including 78-78 with 5:25 remaining, but the red, white and blue would outscore the Golden Grizzlies the rest of the way.
