LANSING, Mich. — Madison Ninneman placed her name in the Iowa Central bowling history books here Saturday, winning the NJCAA women’s all-events national championship.
Behind Ninneman’s performance, the Tritons placed second overall in the team standings to Barton by just 54 pins. Barton ended the four-year run of Rock Valley at the top.
Nicholas Rajkovic was fifth overall to lead the Iowa Central men, who finished fourth. He earned All-American honors.
Ninneman finished with a score of 2,320, seven pins ahead of Sydney Nichols from Jackson. She is the first-ever all-events women’s champion for a Triton program that previously saw Dawn Blomker win singles in 2014 and the teams of Casey Brandau and Neva Waidelich (2019) and Olivia Nolte and Abigail Price (2022) do the same in doubles.
“Madison has been bowling so well all semester and I’m super happy that everything came together for her at the national tournament,” ICCC head coach Haley Hall said. “She was named an NJCAA All-American and was named the most valuable bowler for the tournament.
“The girls gave it a great run and battled with Barton, but came up just short The men had a slow start during doubles and singles, but fought back.”
Rileigh Schillinger was 36th, Emma Phelps finished 39th and Mia Shanks was 52nd for the Iowa Central women. Carter Fecher was 14th, Michael Tevogt finished 61st and Hunter Diepenbrock was 86th for the men.
Earlier during the tournament, Rajkovic had the 11th perfect game in tournament history during the singles portion, finishing fourth overall. The Tritons moved up one spot over the course of the final round after entering play Saturday in fifth.
Rajkovic made a big move, going from 13th overall to fifth.
Iowa Central has now finished in the Top-5 of the team standings 25 total times between both programs, with each winning two national titles.
