Cheyenne Police, FBI Investigating Attempted ATM Theft

The Cheyenne Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a person who was caught on camera trying to steal an automated teller machine.

According to Public Information Officer Alex Farkas-Schulz, the incident occurred around 3 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9, at the Chase Bank branch location at 3502 Dell Range Blvd.

“Surveillance video shows a suspect attempted to pull an ATM from its foundation using a white semi-truck without a rear license plate,” said Farkas-Schulz. “The machine was damaged, but no cash was removed.”

“The case remains under investigation by Cheyenne Police Detectives and the Federal Bureau of Investigation,” she added.

Police on Tuesday afternoon released photos of the suspect and are asking anyone who recognizes them or who knows their whereabouts to call Crime Stoppers Silent Witness at 307-638-TIPS or visit silentwitnesslaramiecounty.com.

Informants will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
