VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The Virginia Beach Police Department took 37 minors into custody during an unplanned curfew enforcement operation at the Oceanfront Resort area in Virginia Beach on March 7 and March 8, according to police.
There was a shooting that took place on Atlantic Avenue in the Oceanfront area in Virginia Beach, Saturday night. The coverage is below:

Of the 37 minors taken into custody, officers released 34 to their parents without warnings.
The remaining three minors were arrested and held at the Virginia Beach Juvenile Detention Center with many charges, including two minors that were found illegally carrying firearms.
Officers conducted the enforcement which started at 11 p.m., March 7, through the early morning hours of Saturday, March 8.
The City of Virginia Beach is moving its nightly curfew for unaccompanied minors (under 18) one hour earlier from 11 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The restriction will last until 5 a.m. in public places, aiming at reduced late-night incidents, and increasing safety during the busy spring and summer months.
Violations of these will result in a Class 4 misdemeanor, according to officials.
