Just finished back to back guest speaker presentations at BOTH of my alma maters!
This week, I had the honor of speaking virtually to 52 freshman engineering majors at Ohio Northern University and an in person presentation to about 18 senior industrial design students at Georgia Tech School of Industrial Design.
I walked them through my journey of how I became a toy designer and eventually landed at CONNETIX as a 3D product artist. Sharing lessons learned, career pivots, and many setbacks, I hope they all walked away from it feeling inspired!
I am so grateful to be able to pour back into the universities that helped shaped my own career and the professors that were monumental in my decision making. I know exactly the feelings the students are feeling both as a freshman and as a senior. There are so many unknowns to navigate, but it was very rewarding to be able to give them the advice I wish I had when I was in their shoes.
Additionally, being back on campus at Georgia Tech it was great to catch up with Thomas Clifton Roger Ball and stephen chininis! I also enjoyed meeting so many students and helping them with their current projects, portfolios, job searching, and so much more. It was presentation day when I arrived and it was amazing to see all the cool things the students were working on!
