The 18th Annual New Hampshire Jewish Film Festival goes live on March 15 virtually and in theaters across the state. Tickets are now on sale for all screenings.
The Nugget in Hanover is once again the venue for showings of two films–The Other, on Sunday March 22 at 10 a.m., and Once Upon My Mother, on Wednesday, March 25 at 7 p.m. The UVJC is a Film Festival sponsor, as is The Nugget. On Sunday morning, the UVJC will provide light refreshments before the film.
The Other (recommended to the Film Festival by our own Carolyn Gordon!) is a documentary that explores the complex relationship of shared humanity, culture and connection between Israelis and Palestinians. Once Upon My Mother is a drama centered around a large family and the challenges of its youngest son, whose mother promises that in spite of his club foot he will walk like everyone else and will have an extraordinary life. The film is described as “funny and moving.”
