A new mural was unveiled at a school in northwest Albuquerque to emphasize the urgent need to stop gun violence.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – A new mural unveiled at a school in northwest Albuquerque aims to send a message about the urgent need to stop gun violence.
The mural, located at the Archer Academy of Accelerated Learning, was created by students and members of New Mexicans to Prevent Gun Violence. It includes an augmented reality experience.
During the unveiling, a mariachi band performed, and speakers, including Speaker of the House Javier Martinez, discussed the mural’s significance.
This mural marks the 20th created by the organization, which reports over 500 people die from gun violence annually in New Mexico.
