Mr. Burl James “BJ” Johnson, Jr., age 72 of Millers Creek, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Larry Adams officiating. Burial will be in Mountlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Burl was born August 24, 1953, in Iredell County to Burl James and Thelma Brooks Johnson. He was a member of South River Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Brown Johnson of the home; daughter, Jennifer Johnson Hodges (Travis) of Millers Creek; grandson, Trenton Hodges of North Wilkesboro; three sisters, Betty J. Johnson (John Alvin) of Yadkinville, Berlene J. Foster (Roy) of Yadkinville, Vicki J. Johnson of Wilkesboro, and several nephews.
