Quick action by South Precinct officers Monday night led to the arrest of 19-year-old shooting suspect Arkee Robertson for his involvement in two separate incidents in the JC Napier area that left two people injured.
The first involved a 27-year-old woman who was shot multiple times while leaving a friend’s apartment on Charles E. Davis Boulevard. She told detectives she was on the phone when she was struck by the gunfire from behind her.
As officers were investigating that shooting, they heard a gunshot nearby on Lafayette Street. Responding officers were informed by witnesses that a suspect wearing a white hoodie and black pants had just shot a 36-year-old man in the arm before fleeing through the alleyway. Officers were able to catch up to Robertson and apprehend him.
A loaded handgun was recovered as he was taken into custody.
Robertson was charged with two counts of attempted criminal homicide, two counts of felony weapon possession, being in possession of a weapon under the influence and resisting arrest. He remains jailed this afternoon on $260,000 bond.
