Los Angeles Dodgers’ pitcher, Sasaki Roki, continues to generate significant discussion as he’s been included in the team’s initial starting rotation, according to reports. Dodgers management has explained their decision-making process regarding personnel usage.
Despite experiencing a PitchCom malfunction during a recent start, Sasaki managed to pitch two scoreless innings, reaching speeds of 160 kilometers per hour.
While Sasaki’s spring training ERA reached 13.50, the Dodgers’ manager has emphasized that he is slated to be a starting pitcher at the beginning of the season.
There is optimism that Sasaki will develop the Dodgers’ opening day starting lineup, despite a high ERA during spring training. Although, some media outlets warn that if he doesn’t demonstrate stability, he could be sent down to Triple-A.
Sasaki’s return to the major leagues saw him deliver a strong performance in his first relief appearance, throwing fastballs up to 99.8 mph and striking out two batters in just 13 pitches.
