City’s Motor Vehicle Administration branch will house a office, giving Marylanders a new way to access essential government services in one convenient location, officials announced.

BCDSS team members are expected to staff the office Monday through Friday, offering community members enhanced access to economic assistance benefits, including , Temporary Cash Assistance and medical assistance. The department also seeks to help MVA customers apply for benefits, check application statuses, update existing cases and more.

“This partnership strengthens our one-stop-shop approach to government services,” MVA Administrator Chrissy Nizer said. “By bringing additional services into our Baltimore City branch, we’re saving customers time and making it easier to access the resources they need in one visit.”

The city’s social services department also completes renewals and connects families to services to aid in meeting their basic needs. No appointment for BCDSS is required, MVA confirmed.

The MVA Baltimore Branch, a multi-agency service hub for the community, is located in Hilltop Shopping Center.

“Accessing public services should be as simple and convenient as possible,” BCDSS Director Brandi Stocksdale said.

“By co-locating our benefits eligibility team inside the MVA’s local branch office, we’re making it easier for residents in Northwest Baltimore to apply for benefits, get real-time information about cases, and access other supports, all without having to make an extra phone call or trip.”
