Teen killed in south Reno shooting, suspect in custody | Local News

A 15-year-old was killed in a shooting Friday night at an apartment complex in south Reno.

Reno Police say they were called to 1205 South Meadows Parkway just before 10 p.m. on a report of shots heard in the area.

Once officers arrived, they found a 15-year-old victim dead from a gunshot wound. They also found an adult victim who was taken to the hospital and is currently in stable condition, though the extent of their injuries have not been released.

The suspect, identified as 18-year-old Cameron Wadsworth was found at his home and was taken into custody without incident.

He has been booked into the Washoe County Jail and charged with open murder with a deadly weapon.

Multiple agencies are on the scene at an apartment complex on South Meadows Parkway on Friday night.

Our crew on the scene confirms the presence of the Reno Police Department, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, and REMSA at the South Peak by Vintage Apartments.

2 News Nevada has been told that residents of the apartments can only enter the complex on foot at this time.

We have not gotten official confirmation on what the agencies are responding to.

It is unknown if anyone has been injured or the extent of any possible injuries.
